*TURMERIC LATTE*
Golden milk (also known as turmeric latte) is a wonderfully healing remedy traditionally taken in India and Pakistan to soothe aches and pains, boost health and vitality and repair the body from injury and trauma. Full of the superfood turmeric, it’s my favourite natural tonic when I’m feeling under the weather and I swear by it for recovering from surgery and to generally heal the body when I’m not feeling my best. I’ve seen it’s effects first hand and it’s amazing! Lately I’ve been sprucing up this latte with some ground cardamom and fennel seeds, both of which are delicious and add another dimension to this little magic elixir. Feel free to experiment with your favourite flavours and make it your own! Check out my recipe below and in my highlights. Enjoy 🤗

You will need:
1 mug of semi skimmed or full fat milk
Up to 1 tspn turmeric
Pinch of black pepper
Honey or sugar taste
Optional – 1 green cardamom pod or 1/2 tspn ground cardamom
Optional – pinch of fennel seeds

1. On medium heat warm up the milk and add turmeric and black pepper (start off with less turmeric until you build up a tolerance for the taste. Note black pepper is essential to absorb the nutrients from the turmeric, you only need a pinch).
2. Add cardamom and fennel seeds if using, bring milk to a boil and simmer for a few mins to allow the turmeric to cook and the flavours to infuse.
3. Remove from heat and sweeten to to taste with honey. Serve warm.
